This sculpture's plaque bears the following description of the Yerba Santa plant: 'THE YERBA SANTA (ERIODICTYON TRICHOCALYX) IS A PLANT NATIVE TO THIS AREA THAT ATTRACTS AND FEEDS BUTTERFLIES. LOCAL TRIBES VALUED IT FOR MEDICINAL PURPOSES.'
