DESCRIPTION:  112-inch high by 48-inch wide by 42-inch deep oxidized steel and polished stainless steel sculpture, mounted on a 16-inch high by 36-inch square plinth;  p.m. lighting

Heath Satow's abstract sculpture of the Yerba Santa plant native to the Claremont area contrasts oxidized steel and polished steel material, similarly illustrated in his public artwork Wish (2014) in South Los Angeles.  This sculpture's plaque bears the following description of the Yerba Santa plant:   'THE YERBA SANTA (ERIODICTYON TRICHOCALYX) IS A PLANT NATIVE TO THIS AREA THAT ATTRACTS AND FEEDS BUTTERFLIES.  LOCAL TRIBES VALUED IT FOR MEDICINAL PURPOSES.'
