Fontana Veterans Memorial (2020)

DESCRIPTION:  approx. 200-foot long by 6½-foot high brick and granite-faced wall consisting of polished and etched granite vignettes for seven 20th century military conflicts
This extensive Veterans Memorial contains seven distinct wall sections with artistic vignettes representing the United States' armed conficts since World War I  (World War I, World War II, Korean War, Vietnam War, Genada and Lebanon, Gulf War, Operation Iraqu Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom).  The vignettes contain collages of photographs and maps of the conflict areas, and include statistics on years of conflict, numbers of servicemembers engaged, and casualties.  The dedication and list of sponsors is at the west end, but there is no reference to the Memorial's designer or sculptor.
