DESCRIPTION:17-foot high by 36-foot wide building-mounted multi-media relief sculpture and mural
This relief sculpture includes metal sculpture and various telephone transmission and switching components, mounted on a background of ceramic tile mosaic. The unusual relief sculpture pays tribute to the extensive communication and technology advancements of Alexander Graham Bell and his Bell Laboratories since 1896. In addition to this A.T. & T.-commissioned work, the Pacific Coast Architectural Database (PCAD) lists Anthony (Antoon) B. Heinsbergen as a notable theater decorator, especially in Los Angeles, during America's "Golden Age of Theater Construction" (PCAD - Antoon B. Heinsbergen).
