Public Art and the Public Realm:  Cultural Asset Mapping

Public Art in Public Places is an international leader in promoting knowledge and enjoyment of public art through extensive cultural asset mapping.  We believe that greater exposure to artistic, cultural, and historic treasures, as well as to new and emerging public art forms, enriches public life and civic engagement throughout the world.

Established in 2006 in partnership with the Google Cultural Institute, Public Art in Public Places is a non-commercial and not-for-profit arts data organization publishing official public art information as a free and open public benefit.

Public Art Data as a Public Benefit

Public Art in Public Places is proud of its collaborations with local governments, news media, technology firms, and arts and cultural organizations to publish free, accessible, accurate, and high quality public art information for the benefit of the general public.

Partnerships with Google Cultural Institute, Google Maps and Google Search combine to support our broad dissemination of public art visual, technical, historical, and geographic data.
