DESCRIPTION: 8-foot high by 12-foot wide ceramic and glass mosaic mural, mounted above a 15-foot by 15-foot fountain and pool
Millard Sheets rarely titled his public mosaics, as was the case with this work for the downtown Pomona Mall. The mosaic is unfortunately damaged by clouding on the surface from mineral deposits. Its companion piece is the nearby ceramic mosaic mural Pomona (1957) by Jean and Arthur Ames.
In the same year, Millard Sheets and the Sheet Studio, with the recent addition of artist Denis O'Connor, produced the nearby Early Pomona Family at 100 W. Second Street, which was considered the Studio's greatest accomplishment to date (Aronson, 2018).
