DESCRIPTION:   14-foot high, 700-pound painted fiberglass kinetic (rotating) statue of cartoon characters Rocky and Bullwinkle (Rocket J. Squirrel and Bullwinkle J. Moose)

This spinning statue by artist Bill Oberlin depicts the famous cartoon characters of the 1959 Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends animated television show by Jay Ward.  It was originally installed outside the Jay Ward Productions office at 8218 Sunset Blvd.   
In 2013 the statue was removed for extensive restoration by Ric Scozzari, during which it was included in the 2014 Jay Ward Legacy Exhibit.  After the Ward family donated the piece to the City of West Hollywood in 2015 for temporary exhibition on the Sunset Strip, it was permanently acquired by the City of West Hollywood and installed February 28, 2020 at its  current location at the traffic median at Sunset Blvd. and Holloway Drive.
