Mi Casa Es Su Casa (1971/2013)

Millard Sheets, Sheets Studio artists

DESCRIPTION:   approx. 15-foot high by 25-foot wide building-mounted ceramic and glass mosaic

This mosaic is one of the few bank building mosaics with a known title.  Although many Sheets Home Savings bank building mosaics were given names/titles that may have been known when they were unveiled, the titles were not always recorded.  Fortunately for this work, Sheets specifically called its theme "Mi casa es su casa - a welcome to the home of a caballero."
The mosaic was removed in 1987 from its original location at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel (9500 Wilshire Boulevard) and donated to the City of Beverly Hills.  It was restored and re-installed at the Beverly Hills Civic Center in 2013, 2 and is part of the Beverly Hills Public Art Program.    -----------------1  Arenson, A.  (2013, April 16).
