DESCRIPTION: station art: three wall-mounted digital-printed image mosaic murals
4-foot high by 156-foot wide
4-foot high by 156-foot wide
16-foot high by 50-foot wide
To represent different ideas and cultures, Silton's three murals incorporate a "stripes" design used throughout history. Two 4-foot high murals flank the subway platform, on one side with text attributed to Abraham Lincoln, and on the other side text attributed to Gloria Anzaldúa. Above the platform is the large 50-wide mural with the station artwork's title "WE,OUR,US." From the artist: “My projects interrupt—in subtle and more overt ways and through combinations of humor, edginess and subterfuge—the assumptions we make based on our observations.”- MetroArt
