"Walking Family"

(date and artist unknown)

DESCRIPTION: 5-foot by 6-foot stencil-cut metal sculpture

This stencil-cut sculpture was originally untitled, and it is an identical version of the City of Upland's "Walking Family #2" sculpture at Foothill Boulevard and London Avenue. This piece serves as a marker for the Central Avenue entrance to the Pacific Electric Bike Trail. It is part of a series of 10 black-coated stencil-cut images installed at approximately the same time throughout the city of Upland, some of which serve more as pseudo-signage for commercial businesses than as public art, such as the coffee cup, hammer, tractor, and mortar and pestle sculptures.
