Wish (2014)

by Heath Satow

DESCRIPTION:  sculptural installation of five oxidized steel, stainless steel, and COR-TEN steel sculptures, with landscaping:
  • two 10-foot high wall-mounted oxidized steel, stainless steel, and COR-TEN steel sculptures
  • three 25-foot high free-standing oxidized steel, stainless steel, and COR-TEN steel sculptures
  • native landscaping

Heath Satow's sculpture emsemble contrasts polished steel with oxidized steel, using COR-TEN steel for the dandelion rods.  Satow intended his dandelion theme to reflect and encourage children's "wish-making":"Children have been picking dandelion flowers that have gone to seed, blowing and “making a wish” for centuries. It is that very concept of focusing thought, gathering energy and releasing it into the world which provides the inspiration for this sculpture."   Heath Satow
