DESCRIPTION: cast bronze statues of brothers Bill Meistrell and Bob Meistrell
Barela's sculpture/statue memorializes twin brothers Bill and Bob Meistrell, founders of Body Glove and pioneers of the first commercial neoprene wetsuits. The full-size bronze statues are based on Barela's earlier 32-inch sculpture/statue commissioned by the Meistrell family.
The memorial was dedicated June 5, 2014 and includes a bronze plaque describing the brothers' history of diving, surfing, commercial success and community presence in the city of Redondo Beach.
