Ripple Effect (2012)

by Timothy Robert Smith

DESCRIPTION:  approx. 108-foot long acrylic mural

Smith's mural presents a collection of recreation images from different perspectives.  The mural effort was supported by the Laguna Beach non-profit Community Art Project, and Smith received assistance from 13 student muralists from Laguna College of Art and Design.  It was completed in March, 2022.
Artist's statement“The core idea, or the spirit of the piece, is about the diversity of perception. That’s kind of what I’m going for is perception of reality and how there’s lots of points of view out there. I’m using actual perspective, like visual perspective, as a metaphor for the different perspectives of all the different people on the planet.” Daily Pilot/Los Angeles Times, March 30, 2022
