DESCRIPTION: 5-foot high by 5-foot wide building-mounted ceramic tile mosaic
Taylor's mosaic is mounted within a niche in the building's exterior that was part of the original 1927 building's 1987 renovation, anticipating a future public artwork. Taylor prepared herself for the Water District building commission by hiking and sketching throughout Laguna Canyon. The mosaic was unveiled August 6, 2006, and was dedicated to Bruce R. Scherer, a 30-year water district official.
Artist's statement: “I started with sketches and drawings, and knew I wanted to include water and old sycamores.” “I knew that I wanted it to be representative of the canyon.”
