Gray's station art theme pays tribute to the former Fox Wilshire Theater, lauded as an art deco masterpiece designed by S. Charles Lee, that existed across the street from the station.
The installation of wall-mounted and free-standing murals covers nearly the entire wall space of the Wilshire/La Cienega Station: platform area walls, two levels of escalator walls, mezzanine level walls, and exterior station walls. The exterior free-standing station walls surrounding the station at street level consist of large tinted transparent glass panels.
