DESCRIPTION: 10-foot high annealed bronze strip sculpture, with three 3-foot by 3-foot sculpted granite cubes
Stutz's sculpture of a striding man is situated in a small park next to the Metro L Line (Gold) station. It is easily visible to train passengers and is a popular community attraction (see below). The granite blocks forming the "striding path" of Stutz's walking man sculpture were once part of the Arroyo rail bridge. Artist's Statement: "This artwork is a celebration of everyday life, emphasizing movement and direction in an ever-changing urban world. It reinforces the very human nature of the site, and symbolizes a community assuredly growing with proud individuality.”
