All Black Lives Matter (2020)

Luckie Alexander

DESCRIPTION:   10-foot wide by 195-foot long polychrome paint on-street mural

This permanent mural is the first official public art on-street mural in Southern California.  Directed and painted by Luckie Alexander, it is based on an earlier version painted by hundreds of volunteers for the June 14, 2020 All Black Lives Matter march at this famous Hollywood location.  The nearly 200-foot mural pays tribute to transgender people of color as well as to recent Black Lives Matter protests, and it is the first official and permanent on-street All Black Lives Matter mural in the City of Los Angeles.
Completed August 31, 2020, this $20,000 mural project was the result of a wide-ranging partnership of city councilman Mitch O'Farrell, StreetsLA, the Los Angeles Department of Transportation, the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs, and local transgender organizations.
LOCATION:   center lane of Hollywood Boulevard west of the intersection of Hollywood Blvd. and Highland Avenue, 6901 Hollywood Blvd. (approximate), Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA
