DESCRIPTION: station art installation of several wall-mounted and free-standing digital-printed image mosaic murals on architectural glass and glass tile
Artist Karl Haendel's murals cover continuous wall space throughout two levels of escalators, the mezzanine level, and the pavilion entrance at street level, giving the impression that the murals complete the station's entire wall space, including the station's free-standing transparent exterior walls at street level. Haendel's images of hands holding objects are dramatically presented against a contrasting white background. Artist's statement: “As an artist, my goal is to challenge viewers to move slowly and with greater awareness through the world of images and signs in order to reveal how these images make meaning and shape our experience.”- MetroArt
