Documentary filmmaker Bruce Brown remains iconic to surf culture and films. He made nearly a half dozen surfing films before his immensely popular "The Endless Summer" in 1964, followed by skateboarding and motorcycle sport films. Thirty years later he filmed "The Endless Summer II" with his son Dana (Wikipedia). The statue/sculpture was unveiled Sept. 19, 2019.
Limebrook's statue of Bruce Brown represents Dana Point's historic surfing and sailing culture, in company with nine other statues of famous Dana Point and watersport athletes, filmmakers, artists, and entrepreneurs, accompanied by "The Endless Summer" mosaic by Mia Tavonatti of the iconic surfing film image.
