Documentary filmmaker Bruce Brown (1937-2017) remains iconic to surf culture and films. He made nearly a half dozen surfing films before his immensely popular "The Endless Summer" in 1964, followed by skateboarding and motorcycle sport films. Thirty years later he filmed "The Endless Summer II" with his son Dana (Wikipedia). The statue/sculpture was unveiled Sept. 19, 2019 and is accompanied by Mia Tavonatti's "The Endless Summer" mosaic of the iconic surfing film image.
