Cyclist

(date and artist unknown)

DESCRIPTION:   5-foot high by 4-foot wide stencil-cut painted steel sculpture (image of a cyclist)

This stencil-cut sculpture serves as a marker for the Campus Avenue entrance to the Pacific Electric Bike Trail.  It is part of a series of 10 untitled black-coated stencil-cut images (without artist or date information) installed at approximately the same time throughout the city of Upland.  Some of these serve more as pseudo-signage for commercial businesses than as public art, such as the coffee cup, hammer, tractor, and mortar and pestle steel silhouettes in the city.
LOCATION: east entrance to Pacific Electric Bike Trail, Campus Avenue and E. Washington Blvd., Upland, California, USA
