Milford Zornes

DESCRIPTION:  3½-foot by 29-foot, 4-panel, oil-on-canvas mural mounted on the upper portion of four walls

This oil-on-canvas mural, notable as a New Deal project for United States Post Offices, was painted by Milford Zornes early in his long career.  
Zornes was a notable leader of the California Style watercolor movement of the early 1930s.   After teaching art at Pomona College and later studying with Millard Sheets at Scripps College, Zornes made his home in Claremont and died in 2008 at the age of100.
