Fork in the Road (2008)

Ken Marshall

DESCRIPTION: 18-foot by 2-foot by 1-foot painted wood sculpture

This "stealth" sculpture was created and installed by Marshall in 2008 without city involvement at this notable split of South Pasadena Avenue, in the middle of the triangular median.  Although it was installed on quasi-public CalTrans property, it became a popular humorous landmark and de facto public artwork.  In 2011 the City of Pasadena formally adopted the sculpture as part of its municipal public art collection.
LOCATION:  center traffic median, St. John Avenue and Pasadena Avenue, Pasadena, California, USA
