The upper portion of the plaque explains the meaning of particular features of the sculpture itself.  The lower portion of the plaque for this "Statue of Peace" replica lists its official title as "Peace Monument" with a brief description of the history of "comfort women" forced into sex slavery, and the City of Glendale's enactment of Comfort Women Day on July 30, 2012 in recognition of the United States House Resolution of the same date urging the Japanese Government to accept historical responsibility.
