DESCRIPTION: Approx. 8-foot high by 40-foot wide, 10-panel building-mounted acrylic paint mural
Dedicated September 30, 2007, the first version of this beach-facing mural illustrates Hermosa Beach history. The mural idea came from the Hermosa Beach Kiwanis Club, a major sponsor. According to Neal Von Flue, the collage of images was based on 100 years of historic photographs. The mural's alternate title is Centennial Mural.
Artist Dawn Whitney-Hall produced a significant reconceptualization and revision in 2026, dedicated on January 10, 2026. The revised 10-panel mural depicts local cultural history with images of the Red Car, Dewey Weber, the Iron Man event, and a "Shakespeare Beach" sign.
