A Resurrection in Four Stanzas (2021)

April Banks

DESCRIPTION:   assemblage of four painted steel sculptures in the form of a burned-out "shotgun"-style house's remaining framework, with four "stanzas" of stenciled text within the roof components

This artwork was installed in tandem with historic interpretive text panels, composed by Dr. Alison Rose Jefferson, that encircle the adjacent sports field and illuminate the local history of the earlier African American neighborhood.  The public artwork was dedicated on February 28, 2021.
