Daub's bas relief presents an ensemble of images of police officers and firefighters on the job - at center is a female officer, dispatch phone in hand.
The bas relief tribute bears the title The Benchmark for Excellence - the motto for the Santa Monica Police Department. It was dedicated on October 20, 2017 and is adjacent to the City's memorial plaque honoring police officers and firefighters who died in the line of duty (see Eugene Daub).
Inside the lobby of the public safety facility is Michael Davis' light wall installation Occurrence (2003).
