The massive crownblock accompanying Davis' steel silhouette sculpture includes historic oil derrick diagrams. The stencil-cut sculpture of the oilfield worker reads: THE DERRICKS WERE MADE OF WOOD AND THE MEN WERE MADE OF IRON
