Port Police (2013)

Eugene Daub

DESCRIPTION:  approx. 7-foot high by 13-foot wide cast bronze and glass wall-mounted sculpture depicting images of Los Angeles Port police activity over the years

Daub's bronze and glass sculpture is a collage of historic and contemporary port and policing images in tribute to the Los Angeles Port Police, who patrol by police car, boat, bicycle, and motorcycle.  The historic images and scenes are backed by the image of the 1963 Vincent Thomas Suspension Bridge, below which aqua-tinted glass illustrates the water.
The sculpture is mounted nearly 12 feet above the lobby area where an 8-foot diameter floor medallion commemorates the 1911 establishment of the Los Angeles Port Police (image below).
LOCATION:  interior lobby, Los Angeles Port Police headquarters, 330 S. Centre Street, San Pedro, California, USA
