Larry Gill and Gavin Heath (Heath Art Glass)
DESCRIPTION: 42-inch high by 9-foot long by 2-foot deep sculptural concrete bench with 5 hand-blown glass insets banded with polished stainless steel
This sculptural bench illustrates Gill and Heath's signature hand-blown glass work. It was refurbished and re-installed in early 2022 at its current site in downtown Laguna Beach just a few feet from its former location (more detail at Heath Art Glass). It is directly in front of Andrew Myers' 2004 bronze sculpture The Shopper (see below images).
Gill and Heath produced a video of their signature glass-blowing process for their 2013 Tide Pool Paddleboard sculptural bench, which can be viewed here. Tide Pool Paddleboard is installed at Heisler Park at the Cliff Drive bus stop.
