DESCRIPTION: 7-foot high, 2-piece, cast bronze sculpture, modeled on Petty Officer 1st Class Dan Maloney
Sculptor Stanley Bleifeld used Petty Officer First Class Dan Maloney as a realistic model for the piece. Bleifeld also placed the name and initials of Rear Admiral William Thompson on the sailor's sea bag as a tribute to the Admiral's efforts to create the Navy Memorial, of which this sculpture has become a part.
The Navy Memorial was donated and installed in 2004 by the Fleet Reserve Association Brank 43.
