Greetings from Laguna (2007)

Marsh Scott and Sherry Bullard

DESCRIPTION:   36-inch high by 126-foot long powder-coat painted steel sculptural fencing (by Scott), with 46 individual carved, embossed, and glazed ceramic tiles depicting historic Laguna Beach postcard images (by Bullard)

This collaborative public artwork is a site-specific installation at what is now the Old Pottery Place, in tribute to the long-standing Pottery Shack business established there in 1936.  After an extensive historic restoration in 2006, Scott's and Bullard's artwork was installed to surround the front, side, and entrance to the corner location.  Scott's sculptural fencing follows a willow design, with each fence panel containing one of Bullard's "postcard" tiles, numbering 30 in all.  Titled "Greetings from Laguna," the installation is part of the Laguna Beach Public Art Collection.
