"Rebuilding of the Palomares Adobe" (1941)
by Frank Stauffacher

(Alternative title: "The Construction of Adobe de Palomares")

DESCRIPTION:  5
½-foot by 16½-foot oil-on-fabric mural
NOTE: The mid-19th century attire, native Americans, and building materials and equipment shown in this mural suggest that the artist intended it to depict construction of the original adobe in 1850-1855, instead of its restoration and rebuilding in 1939.
