DESCRIPTION: 6 free-standing "pillar" sculptures representing the themes of "equality," "community," "civility," "diversity, "serenity," and "creativity", with p.m. lighting
This ambitious installation along a 3/4-mile stretch of Tahquitz Canyon Way begins at Palm Springs City Hall and continues to Sunrise Way. It is the largest and most comprehensive public art project initiated by Palm Springs' Public Art Commission. As a statement of the City's identity, the installation is also a welcoming gesture to visitors arriving at the adjacent airport. Pillars of Palm Springs was dedicated on World Art Day, April 15, 2024.
