Skyspace:  Dividing the Light (2007)

James Turrell

DESCRIPTION:   Approx. 25-foot high metal canopy structure with a 16-foot square aperture that is architecturally paired with an at-grade infinity pool below, surrounded by red granite benches and landscaping; LED lighting is embedded in the support structure, producing Turrell's signature canopy lighting program

The lighting program, keyed to sunrise and sunset, is an integral component of Turrell's design.  It is part of the Benton Museum of Art collection, and it is open and free to public access.
Note:  The Skyspace is located within a semi-private Pomona College academic area  - quiet courtesy should be observed.
