PUBLIC ART IN PUBLIC PLACES PROJECT announces

Two New Hispanic Heritage Exhibits 

Google Arts & Culture:  Latino Cultures in the US

September 7, 2017 – Two new digital exhibits from the PUBLIC ART IN PUBLIC PLACES database mark its celebration of Hispanic History Month as part of Google Arts & Culture's special program on Latino Cultures in the US.

Hispanic Heritage of Anthony Quinn as "The Pope of Broadway" explores the life and cultural contributions of actor Anthony Quinn, whose famous "Zorba the Greek" role is memorialized in Eloy Torrez' recently restored mega-mural in downtown Los Angeles.

Hispanic Heritage of "Los Angeles Teachers" examines Hector Ponce's mega-mural tribute to the contributions and collaboration of teacher Jaime Escalante and actor Edward James Olmos on the unforgettable film "Stand and Deliver."
